The Department of Finance, Investment, and Banking at the Wisconsin School of Business invites
applications for tenured positions (Associate, or Full Professor) beginning in August 2025. This
position is part of the Wisconsin Research, Innovation, and Scholarly Excellence (RISE)-Artificial
Intelligence (AI) Cluster Hire Initiative (https://rise.wisc.edu/rise-ai/). The successful candidate will
hold a tenure home in the Department of Finance, Investment, and Banking while engaging in
interdisciplinary collaborations with other departments, schools, and colleges across the University.
We are seeking a leader whose expertise will drive the integration AI in finance and decision-making
research and education. Research topics may include AI applications in risk assessment, mortgage
underwriting, portfolio allocation, and algorithmic trading, as well as deep learning techniques for
time series predictions and general equilibrium models. Other areas of interest include the impact of
AI adoption on financial and labor market outcomes and the optimal regulation of AI technologies.

Responsibilities:

- Create and maintain a strong program of research
- Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in the Wisconsin School of Business
- Provide classroom and individual instruction for undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking students
- Contribute to the intellectual and academic life of the department. University and community
service will be expected as appropriate.
- Participate in interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts with other departments, schools and
colleges.

-Have shown excellence in teaching.

Candidates for tenure rank:
-Possess academic credentials qualifying them for a tenured faculty appointment at UW-Madison.
