The Department of Finance in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University invites applications for Clinical Professor (open rank) positions in the areas of Finance or Real Estate with a potential start date of Spring 2025 or Fall 2025.
Essential Functions: The candidate must contribute to the Department of Finance’s mission primarily in the areas of teaching, curriculum development, and service. The candidate must be able to deliver excellent instruction and to contribute to curriculum development at the undergraduate and master’s levels.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications for Clinical Assistant Professor applications: 1) A completed Ph.D. in finance, real estate or related field (ABDs will be considered if terminal degree is completed by start date); 2) Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate level as evidenced by organization and communication skills or strong teaching evaluations; 3) A record of scholarship as evidenced by professional experience within the finance or real estate profession, an active learning agenda, and papers, articles, tutorials, or manuals.
Required Qualifications for Clinical Associate Professor applications: 1) A Ph.D. in finance, real estate or related field; 2) Demonstrated teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate level as evidenced by good teaching evaluations, course innovation, organization and communication skills; 3) The equivalent of 5 years of full-time teaching at a four-year institution that have been successfully completed and reviewed at the university level. 4) A record of scholarship as evidenced by professional and/or academic experience within the finance or real estate profession, an active learning agenda, and papers, articles, tutorials, or manuals.
Required Qualifications for Clinical Professor applications: 1) A Ph.D. in finance, real estate or related field; 2) Sustained long-term excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level as evidenced by strong teaching evaluations, course innovation, organization and communication skills; 3) The equivalent of 7 years of full-time teaching at a four-year institution that have been successfully completed and reviewed at the university level. 4) Demonstrated leadership record of scholarship as evidenced by professional and/or academic experience within the finance or real estate profession, an active learning agenda, and papers, articles, tutorials, or manuals.
Desired Qualifications: 1) Ability to meet AACSB business accreditation standards; 2) Excellence in teaching or demonstrated ability to teach courses at the intersection of real estate and finance; 3) Significant service and professional contributions to the finance or real estate profession including relevant work experience and/or earned professional designations such as CFA or CFP; 4) Potential for or demonstrated ability to integrate finance or real estate research into the curriculum; 5) Teaching experience in a variety of platforms, including executive, onsite, online, graduate and undergraduate levels; 6) A recent record of publications in finance and/or real estate related journals.
