Position: Vice President, Finance & Administration

Reports To: Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer

Location: Alexandria, VA/Limited Hybrid

Are you an innovative nonprofit association leader who has experience in finance, HR, IT, and facilities and values authenticity and relationships?  

Come join the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), an organization dedicated to the non-technical concerns of licensed professional engineers.  NSPE is seeking a Vice President of Finance & Administration to oversee and direct operations for finance, IT, human resources, and facilities.

This is an exciting opportunity to serve as a member of the senior leadership team, encouraging cross-departmental collaboration and cultivating success at every level of the organization

As the VP of Finance & Administration, you will be responsible for NSPE’s overall financial operations, policies, and plans, including financial plans for general operations and strategic initiatives.  You will be an expert at translating organizational goals and plans into financial plans and be jointly responsible for organization-wide decisions, the achievement of the organization’s strategic plan goals and priorities, and the organization’s overall performance and results.  You will supervise the Director of Human Resources & Administration and the outsourced consultants for accounting and IT and will work closely with the property manager in managing NSPE’s headquarters.  You will play a pivotal role in helping manage NSPE’s Education Foundation.  This position reports to the Executive Director & CEO.

 

Qualified candidates offer:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the accounting/finance & administrative functions
  • Nonprofit association financial management & business planning experience
  • Experience in the oversight of facilities, human resources, & IT infrastructure & systems
  • In-depth knowledge of not-for-profit accounting & finance
  • Strong relationship-building skills, interacting closely with various team members and outsourced partners
