The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) College of Business Administration invites applications for at least one non-tenure system faculty position in the Department of Finance with a start date no later than August 16, 2024. UIC is a Tier 1 research institution located near the heart of Chicago’s business community. Non-tenure system faculty in the College of Business teach courses to undergraduate and/or graduate students in their field of expertise. In addition, non-tenure system faculty are expected to provide service to the department, college, and/or campus. Non-tenure system faculty at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, and Clinical Professor make intellectual contributions to their discipline through basic or applied research and/or activities that translate disciplinary scholarship to professional audiences.
Non-tenure system faculty are expected to be physically present on the UIC campus in Chicago to meet with students, collaborate with colleagues, and attend meetings as needed. Non-tenure system faculty have a base teaching load of eight courses per academic year; this load can be reduced for faculty engaged in substantial scholarship and/or service activities. Non-tenure system faculty have access to funds that help pay for conference travel and other professional development expenses.
Qualifications:
For consideration for all ranks, a Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant professional experience or training.
For consideration for the rank of Lecturer, a Master’s degree is additionally required.
For consideration for the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor, a terminal degree (e.g., PhD or equivalent) is additionally required.
The ideal candidate for this position will have at least three years of experience teaching finance courses; experience teaching courses in one (or more) of the following areas is particularly helpful: introduction to finance, corporate finance, investments, personal finance, and financial planning.
