The Eugene F. Brigham Finance, Insurance and Real Estate Department of the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida is seeking applicants for the following three positions for August 2024.
Tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor
Position entails research and teaching requirements commensurate with a tenure track finance professor at a top-level business school. Applicants must have a demonstrated research interests in “Fintech.” This means evidence of application of ML/AI tools in research and/or research interests related to the impact of technology on financial markets, corporations, and financial intermediaries. Similarly, there is a strong preference for an ability to teach courses related to these research interests. This requires knowledge of R and/or Python and the ability to instruct students on finance applications employing these languages.
Minimum job requirements: Must have a PhD degree in Finance or Economics or related fields. Also demonstrated proficiency in research as demonstrated by publications and recent working papers.
Preferred attributes of applicants include evidence of strong teaching performance. There is also a preference for those with top-tier publications and those with Senior Assistant status for any Assistant Professor level hire.

Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor
This is a non-tenure track position. Duties include teaching a wide variety of courses as well as updating and developing undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education business course content and may include both online as well as face-to-face instruction. The applicant is also expected to contribute to the research environment within the department.
Additional possible opportunities available to applicants would include participation in student professional development, potential directorship positions for masters’ programs and/or potential involvement with an IPO/entrepreneurial finance center.
Minimum Requirements: Must have a doctoral degree (DBA or PhD) in Finance or Economics or related fields. Must also have demonstrated proficiency with respect to teaching and academic research.
Preferred Requirements: While not an absolute requirement, a preference is that applicants can teach courses with Python and R applications and/or courses with AI applications to Finance. Preference also for applicants with prior involvement in Professional Development of students.

Lecturer
Non-tenure track nine-month position. Duties include teaching a wide variety of courses as well as updating and developing undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education business course content and may include both online as well as face-to-face instruction. It is expected that any hire contributes to the general research environment of the school.
Additional possible opportunities available to applicants would include participation in student professional development.
Minimum Requirements: A master’s degree in one of the following: Finance, Economics, statistics, or related areas.
Preferred Requirements: While not an absolute requirement, a preference is that applicants can teach courses with Python and R applications and/or courses with AI applications to Finance. Preference may also be for applicants with prior involvement in Professional Development of students.
