The Milgard School of Business at the University of Washington Tacoma invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Finance effective September 16, 2024. This is a full-time position with a 9-month service period. The successful candidate will be expected to perform high-quality research, teach a variety of finance courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and be willing to contribute as an engaged colleague to serve our growing school, campus, and community. Applicants from all research areas of Finance are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will teach in one or more of the following areas: introductory finance, intermediate finance, derivatives, fixed income, portfolio management, international finance, and other advanced finance courses. Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, familiarity with Bloomberg terminals.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach in multiple modalities, including online, hybrid, and in-person, in an urban-serving campus environment with a diverse student body, many of whom are first-generation college students. Applicants should have a doctoral degree in Finance (or foreign equivalent) conferred by the appointment start date. Applicants pending conferral may be selected and appointed on an acting basis.

Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this position will be $17,222-$17,778 per month ($154,998 to $160,002 per academic year), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include professional development funds, a one-time moving allowance, and/or summer research funding.
