Sun Yat-sen University, founded by Dr. Sun Yat-sen and with an educational tradition spanning over 100 years, is a preeminent research, academic and cultural center and the premier location for talent development in South China. Business School is newly established at Sun Yat-sen University in 2021, located in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone of China. It is the first school relating humanities and social sciences approved by Sun Yat-sen University in Shenzhen Campus. Business School seeks to fill tenure-track faculty positions at the level of professor/associate professor/ assistant professor as well as post-doctoral Fellows. The recruiting discipline fields include Theoretical Economics, Applied Economics and Business Administration. Applicants specializing on Theoretical Economics and entrepreneurial innovation are well preferred.

 

Basic requirement:

·Uphold the leadership of the Communist Party of China, adhere to the correct political ideology, abide by the Constitution and laws of the People’s Republic of China, stay loyal to the cause of education, observe the rules and regulations of the University;

·Observe professional ethics and possess a rigorous academic attitude;

·Be familiar with rules of higher education system and the state of higher education both domestically and abroad;

·Possess an international academic vision and ideas to lead the development of the discipline field;

·Be in good health, able to work onsite during employment.

 

Positions and Requirements:

  • Tenure-track Faculty

1. Professor (Tenured)

Strong academic performance, and have made significant achievements and contributions in talent cultivation or academic research that have been recognized both domestically and internationally; have significant influence and academic status both domestically and internationally, able to lead the discipline field in striving towards or reaching globally leading standards; have outstanding leadership and organizational skills. Under 55 years old.

2. Associate Professor (Tenured):

Relatively strong academic performance, and have made achievements and contributions in talent cultivation or academic research that have been widely recognized both domestically and internationally; have strong influence and academic status at home and abroad, able to maintain the academic standards of discipline field; able to become an independent academic leader in the discipline field. Under 45 years old.

3. Associate Professor (Tenure-track):

Strong scientific research and technological innovation capabilities, with high-level achievements in talent cultivation or academic research; have some academic influence both domestically and internationally; have the potential to become an academic leader or outstanding scholar in the discipline field. Under 40 years old.

4. Assistant Professor (Tenure-track):

Have a broad academic horizon, strong innovative thinking skills and a solid research foundation; able to achieve high-level academic results; have substantial potential for academic development. Under 38 years old.

  • Post-doctoral Fellows

Under 35 years old, have received doctoral degree of no more than 3 years, be familiar with the rules of higher education system and the state of higher education both domestically and abroad; possess an international academic vision, high academic standards and strong scientific research ability.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation is very competitive with leading Asian Business Schools. Attractive start-up research fund and setting-in allowance will be provided for Tenure-Track Faculty.
