Assistant Professor, Finance

Job Summary
The Assistant Professor of Finance with specialization in Financial Services will have an initial assignment that may include teaching finance, risk management & insurance, real estate, and economics, at both undergraduate and graduate levels, course and/or curriculum development, research/scholarship, involvement in department, college, and university committees/initiatives, and other assigned duties. The BS in Finance offers three concentrations: Financial Analysis and Management, Financial Services, and Real Estate. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in at least the Financial Services concentration.

Job Description

Essential Job Duties:

Teach three (3) classes per semester, conduct scholarly work and engage in professional activities, consistent with the LCOB guidelines for faculty classification as Scholarly Academic, and engage in service activities as required.

Required Qualifications

• Doctorate from an AACSB accredited business school in Finance or a doctorate in Financial Planning from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation.
• ABD considered if degree is conferred by August 7, 2023. If successful candidate is ABD, appointment will be made at a Lecturer level on a fixed contract.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience in an AACSB accredited institution.
• Relevant business experience.
• Professional certification, such as CFP, CFA, CDE, or CPA.
• A candidate with research and teaching experience in Financial Services is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Experience or commitment to the use of technology in distance learning and university teaching. Interest in collaborating both within and outside the university in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning. Continued scholarship and service to the department, college, university, and community.

Appointment will be made on a 9-month semester basis available August 2023.
