Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), Department of Treasury, is responsible for safeguarding the financial system from illicit use, combating money laundering and its related crimes including terrorism, and promoting national security through the strategic use of financial authorities and the collection, analysis, and dissemination of financial intelligence.
FinCEN has posted for a Regulatory Economist position on USAJOBS. The general responsibilities include assessing and understanding the costs and benefits of FinCEN’s regulatory actions to support the U.S. anti-money laundering/countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) framework. Responsibilities also include conducting economic analyses to assess the value of the information collected by FinCEN in advancing its mission and to support regulations and other regulatory guidance that combat money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes.
