The Busch School of Business at The Catholic University of America seeks candidates to fill a full-time position as Assistant Professor of Finance, to begin in August 2023.

The Catholic University of America is the national university of the Catholic Church with 6,000 undergraduate and graduate students in more than 180 academic programs on a residential campus in the heart of the nation's capital. The Tim and Steph Busch School of Business, founded in 2013, is committed to the application of Catholic Social Doctrine to business through thought leadership and the formation of students as virtuous Catholic business leaders. The Busch School is housed in Maloney Hall, a beautiful century-oldcollegiate gothic building that reopened in early 2019 after a $37 million renovation.

We seek candidates who understand, are enthusiastic about, and will make a significant contribution to the mission of the University, which reads as follows:

As the national university of the Catholic Church in the United States, founded and sponsored by the bishops of the country with the approval of the Holy See, The Catholic University of America is committed to being a comprehensive Catholic and American institution of higher learning, faithful to the teachings of Jesus Christ as handed on by the Church. Dedicated to advancing the dialogue between faith and reason, The Catholic University of America seeks to discover and impart the truth through excellence in teaching and research, all in service to the Church, the nation and the world.

The position is a tenure track appointment at the rank of assistant professor. Candidates at other ranks, or professor of practice track, will also be considered.

Responsibilities include: academic research, teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, mentoring students, and service to the department, school, and university.

Candidates should have a passion for the School’s mission, a relevant and rigorous research agenda, and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in business or a related field.

For full consideration, applications should be received by December 15, 2022. The application should include:

  • letter of interest
  • CV
  • three references
  • a personal mission statement indicating how your teaching, service, and prior experience will make a distinctive contribution to the life of our School, our University's mission, and the vision of Catholic education outlined in the Apostolic Constitution on Catholic Universities, Ex Corde Ecclesiae.

Application packages must contain the 3 required documents and should be sent directly to Dr. Irene Kim (kimiy@cua.edu) using the subject line "Application for Finance Faculty Position - [your last name]"

The University will perform background checks on all new faculty hires prior to making the final offer of employment. The Catholic University of American is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
