Position Summary:

The Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University is seeking to fill a tenure track position in the finance area. The position can be filled either at the assistant or the associate level, with or without tenure, depending on the candidate's qualifications. We expect to interview at the AFA meetings. However, an interview at the meetings is not a necessary condition for this job.

The Sy Syms School of Business (Syms) operates on two campuses in Manhattan (New York City) and is a part of Yeshiva University, a private institution, consistently ranked among the top 70 US universities by US News. YU includes, in addition to Yeshiva and Stern colleges, Syms, the Cardozo Law School, and its affiliate Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The Sy Syms School offers business and accounting programs for undergraduate men and women, a Master of Science in Accounting, a Master of Science in Taxation, the Mitzner Master of Science degree in Real Estate, and an MBA program. We expect to launch a Masters of Finance program and to expand our graduate programs within the next few years. The Sy Syms School was established in 1987 and it is accredited by AACSB. The school expects to hire additional research active faculty in different areas during this and the next hiring cycle. The school has all the standard databases and it stresses interdisciplinary research and cooperation among areas within the school and with our strong economics department.

Experience & Educational Background:

Applicants must have a PhD in finance or a related field, or expect to receive such a degree no later than Fall 2021. They must demonstrate potential for high-quality research including refereed publications in top journals. Applicants must also provide recent evidence of high-quality teaching. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Salary and teaching loads are competitive. We will consider applicants in all areas of finance, but a demonstrated ability to teach real estate related courses is a plus.
