Assistant Professor in Finance

The Department of Finance at the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at University of Delaware invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in Fall 2022. Exceptional candidates from more senior ranks may be considered; evidence of publications in top finance journals will be required in such cases.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in finance or a related field, or expect to complete a Ph.D. by August 31, 2022, and should demonstrate the potential for outstanding achievement in research and teaching. Successful candidates will demonstrate the drive and vision to develop an innovative, cutting-edge, and internationally recognized research program. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Finance currently has 18 full-time faculty members, including 13 tenured or tenure-track professors. The Department offers BS and MS degrees in Finance, and it also supports the PhD programs of the Department of Economics and the Institute for Financial Services Analytics, and the College's MBA programs.

The Department highly values publications in top journals in finance and related disciplines  and provides excellent research support, including an attractive teaching load, a one-semester third-year research sabbatical, strong database resources, an active seminar and internal workshop series, access to a high-performance computing cluster, and trading laboratory facilities. Newark is ideally located in the northeastern corridor. It is within commuting distance from Wilmington, DE, Philadelphia, PA, and Baltimore, MD, and is also about two hours from Washington, DC and New York City by car or train. The Delaware beaches are just 1.5 hours away.
