The Department of Finance at the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at University of Delaware invites applications for a Continuing Track faculty position beginning Fall 2021. This is a non-tenure track appointment primarily emphasizing teaching responsibilities. The initial appointment is a 2-year renewable contract. Rank is open and will depend upon experience and qualifications. Salary is competitive.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in finance or a related field, or expect to complete a Ph.D. by August 31, 2021 and have demonstrated excellence in teaching. Successful candidates will demonstrate the drive and vision to develop an innovative, cutting-edge instructional program and a commitment to scholarly research. This is a permanent line, renewable with increasing contract renewal lengths (starting at two years and moving up to five year renewals). There is no promotion requirement with this position though there are opportunities for promotion in rank. Successful candidates should be interested in establishing a long-term teaching career at the University of Delaware and maintaining research productivity commensurate with a three-course per semester teaching load. Teaching or research interest in FinTech or financial planning is a plus. Opportunities will exist for teaching finance courses in UD’s innovative Joint Institute for Data Science with Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in Chengdu, China.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:  The Department of Finance currently has 19 full-time faculty members. The Department offers BS and MS degrees in Finance, and supports the College’s MBA programs and PhD programs in Economics and Financial Services Analytics. All degree programs are fully accredited by the AACSB.
