Appointment Date: August 1, 2021 or January 1, 2022

Fields of Emphasis: Corporate Finance, Investments, Banking

Requirements: Applicants must have a Ph.D. from an accredited institution. (Expected completion by July 31, 2021 is acceptable.) Demonstrated ability or potential for high quality research and teaching at graduate level.

Teaching: NUGSB offers finance courses at the MBA and MSc levels and plans to launch a PhD program. Teaching responsibilities would be at the MBA, MSc and PhD levels. Efficient 4-course teaching load taught in modular format.

Research: Applicants should have a strong interest and proven competence in research and scholarship. We seek candidates who can demonstrate the potential to publish in top-tier scholarly journals. Applicants for associate or full professor must have a strong record of scholarly publications.

Compensation: Internationally (AACSB) competitive salary with generous expat benefits. Kazakhstan has a low flat income tax rate of 10% and a low cost of living. The benefits package includes free housing, international health insurance, home travel allowance, allowance for children's education, among other things. Generous research funding/grants are available on a competitive basis at the school and university levels.

Institution: NUGSB has a small, but growing research-oriented faculty and is in strategic partnership with Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
