The Department of Finance at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University, invites applications for a full-time tenured/tenure-track faculty position to begin Fall 2021. The position is contingent on funding.

Position Description

Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, depending on qualifications. Successful candidates will normally be appointed for nine calendar months each year (September to May) and have the opportunity to earn up to two months of additional salary during the summer for the purpose of supporting their research activities.

Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the advancement of knowledge through high-quality publications in leading academic journals, to teach courses with rigorous academic content at the undergraduate, masters, and/or doctoral level, and to engage in service and outreach activities that advance the educational mission of the department, the school, and the university.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Finance or equivalent discipline is required. We will consider candidates in all areas of finance. At the assistant professor level, preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated potential for publishing high-quality research in leading journals. At the associate and full professor level, preference will be given to candidates with established high-quality research records, with an additional emphasis placed on research impact. Candidates currently serving at the associate or full professor level who have an established record of high-quality publications may be considered for endowed positions..

For junior candidates, a first-round interview will be conducted via Zoom in December 2020 / January 2021. From these, a short list of candidates will, depending on the situation with Covid, either be invited to campus for a second-round interview or have an extensive set of interviews via Zoom during the spring 2021 semester. Candidates who are more seasoned, who belong to under-represented groups, or who demonstrate particularly high potential for publishing in leading academic journals, may be invited directly to the "second-round" (live or virtual) campus interview, without a first-round interview. Such targeted campus interviews may take place during the fall 2020 or spring 2021 semesters.
