The Institute for Finance and Statistics at the University of Bonn is looking for a

Postdoctoral Research Fellow (E13 TV-L, 100%, 2+ years)

in financial economics, banking, monetary policy, or related fields.

The postdoctoral research fellow will join the Finance Group at the Institute for Finance and Statistics, housed within the University of Bonn’s Department of Economics, and interact with the Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute: Markets & Public Policy, funded by the Federal Excellence Strategy. The appointment will be for an initial period of two years with the potential for renewal.

The successful candidate will have an ambitious research agenda in financial economics, excellent quantitative skills, and an active interest in contributing to the research environment in the Finance Group as well as in the area “Financial Stability” of the Cluster of Excellence. German language skills are not required. Expected starting date is no later than October 2021. Teaching obligations are limited and can be arranged flexibly. Requirements:

  • PhD in economics, finance, or related fields
  • Publishing record or evidence of potential to publish in leading journals
  • Excellent communication skills in English
