Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Department of Economics & Finance in the Cameron School of Business at the University of North Carolina Wilmington seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance to begin August 2021. The successful candidate will teach at the undergraduate and master’s level and support our growing graduate programs, particularly an online MBA program. The candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda capable of high-quality peer-reviewed publications. Service at the department, college, and university level is expected.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Finance (ABD considered) Our campus is known for applied and experiential learning, and our mission is to attract high-quality, diverse students. Thus, the successful candidate must be capable of excellent, dynamic teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Specialization in corporate finance and or financial institutions is preferred, though all areas of finance specialization will be considered. A willingness to eventually pursue the CFA designation is a plus. Because this position will support our online graduate program, we specifically seek faculty who demonstrate skill or interest in teaching online graduate courses.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Economics and Finance Department supports the Bachelor of Arts in Economics and the Bachelor of Science with concentrations in Economics and Finance. At the graduate level, the economics faculty support courses in economics of environmental studies, the Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Accountancy, Master of Business Analytics, and Master of Science in Finance.
