The SILC Business School, co-founded by Shanghai University (SHU) and University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in 1994, is one of the earliest and most influential Sino-foreign joint business schools in China. We invite qualified applicants to apply for a tenure-track faculty position in Economics and Finance Department, commencing from Fall 2021. The position rank is open (Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor).

Applicants should be qualified to publish in high-impact journals and be strongly committed to teaching and developing courses. Candidates for the rank of Assistant Professor should obtain a Ph.D. degree by Fall 2021 and show great research potential. Candidates for the rank of Associate or Full Professor must provide evidence of an outstanding record in research and teaching. All fields of economics and finance will be considered, but preference will be given to:

I.              Empirical and theoretical asset pricing, financial risk management, corporate finance, financial econometrics, quantitative investment, and artificial intelligence/machine learning investment.

II.     International trade, urban economics, development economics, industrial organization, environmental and natural resource economics, energy economics, and macroeconomics.

The successful candidate will be considered for either a full-time appointment at SHU or a joint appointment with UTS. The joint appointment is based in  Shanghai for 10-11 months and in Sydney, Australia for 1-2 months (fulfilling duties at UTS). The teaching load in SILC is 4-6 teaching hours per week on average.
