Description
Commensurate with experience and qualifications, the Department of Finance and Business Economics in the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington seeks to hire a candidate to one position as a tenure-track Assistant Professor and a second candidate to an open rank position (as either a tenure-track Assistant Professor, as a tenured Associate Professor, or as a tenured Professor). The teaching and research area(s) for both positions are finance and/or business economics. Both positions are full-time (100% FTE), multi-year appointments with 9-month service periods, and an expected start date of September 16, 2021. Duties include performing high quality research and demonstrating excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate students. All University of Washington faculty participate in research, teaching and service.

Qualifications
Candidates must hold, or be nearing completion of, a PhD (or foreign equivalent degree) in finance, economics or in a related field. The required terminal degree must be conferred by the position start date for initial appointment. For an Assistant Professor, a qualified candidate may be considered for temporary appointment as an Acting Assistant Professor, pending PhD with conversion to appointment as an Assistant Professor after degree conferral if the terminal degree has not been conferred by the position start date. Applicants for tenured positions will evidence sustained research and teaching excellence.
