The Department of Transportation, Logistics, and Finance in the College of Business at North Dakota State University (NDSU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level to begin in August 2020.  We will consider qualified applicants in the area of Finance/Economics with the primary research interest in International Financial Economics, and teaching interest in International Finance, Corporate Finance, and Research Methods.  The normal teaching load is 2-2 (four three-credit courses with no more than three preparations).  The position is also expected to conduct and publish high quality research using advanced econometric methodology, and provide service to the university and business communities.  The position offers a competitive salary and benefit package.

The tenure home will be in the Department of Transportation, Logistics, and Finance.  However, this position will also be affiliated with the NDSU College of Business’ Challey Institute for Global Innovation & Growth.  The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research, teaching, and outreach that contributes to the Institute’s mission, specifically studying the impacts of international trade and trade policy on economic growth and opportunity and examining financial and economic policies including immigration policy that enhance economic development, encourage innovation & entrepreneurship and increase economic growth and opportunity for communities, regions, and the U.S.

The Department of Transportation, Logistics, and Finance currently has 11 faculty members and offers undergraduate majors in Finance, and master’s and doctoral degrees in Transportation and Logistics, Supply Chain Management, and Transportation and Urban Systems. The College of Business at NDSU is fully accredited by AACSB, and is located in Richard H. Barry Hall, a 135,000-square foot state-of-the-art facility.  The College of Business offers a variety of undergraduate programs as well as graduate programs including MBA, Master of Accountancy, Master of Supply Chain Management, Master of Transportation and Urban Systems, and PhD in Transportation and Logistics.

The Sheila and Robert Challey Institute for Global Innovation & Growth is an interdisciplinary institute that aims to advance understanding in the areas of innovation, trade, and institutions to identify policies and solutions that enhance economic growth and opportunity.  The Challey Institute works toward achieving its mission by engaging in research, student programming, and outreach in the areas of (1) international trade, investment, and immigration, (2) innovation and entrepreneurship, and (3) institutions and policy.
