The Assistant Manufacturing Controller is responsible for providing financial support to the operations management of the manufacturing site. This role will manage day to day financial activities of the site, while assisting the site in meeting operating KPI's. The Assistant Manufacturing Controller reports to the Group Controller and manages a team of two cost accountants.

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:

  • Assist operations management in development of annual budgets and forecast projections.
  • Measure, analyze, and report on manufacturing variances and recommend strategies to improve performance.
  • Oversee monthly closing process and preparation of monthly scorecards.
  • Provide financial support for site continuous improvement programs.
  • Assist or lead other special projects as assigned.

The ideal candidate is an experienced financial professional who is ready to lead at a higher level preferably with experience in a manufacturing environment. You are comfortable with cost accounting and month end closing procedures to ensure the manufacturing site receives accurate information for business decisions.

You'll be most successful in this role if you have:

  • Strong financial skills, knowledge of GAAP accounting rules, FP&A, and cost accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences and forms of communication including across sites.
  • Lead and coach a team to achieve results and bring out the best in people.
  • Hands-on experiences working cross functionally with various site functions such as Engineering, Warehouse, and Manufacturing.

In order to take on these challenges, you'll need to have:

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in Cost Accounting preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and databases.
