The University of Texas at San Antonio Department of Finance invites applicants for three tenure-track positions beginning Fall 2020.

Associate Professor of Finance: The position requires a Ph.D. degree in Finance (or related area) with a strong preference for specialization in the analysis of financial data. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of publishing in top-tier finance journals (such as JF, JFE, RFS and JFQA).

Assistant Professor of Finance (2 positions): The positions require a Ph.D. degree in Finance (or related area); exceptional ABD candidates will be considered as well if completion of all requirements for the Ph.D. degree will be completed prior to beginning employment.  Position 1: Strong preference for specialization in Banking and Financial Intermediation and ability to teach courses in this area.  Position 2: Strong preference for specialization in Entrepreneurial Finance (venture capital, private equity, initial public offerings, innovation, capital raising etc.) or a related field.

All positions: Candidates must demonstrate strong potential for publishing in top-tier finance journals and have an ability to teach at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels. Successful candidates must demonstrate their ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of diverse urban populations and support the university’s commitment to thrive as a Hispanic Serving Institution and a model for student success. The Department of Finance consists of eight tenured and tenure-track faculty members. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Teaching load for Assistant Professors is 2-1; it is 2-2 for Associate Professors.
