This is a joint Postdoctoral Research Associate position between the Olin Business School – Finance Department and the Brown School.  This position is for the Danforth Campus.

Essential Functions

The Olin Business School and Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. This is a joint Postdoctoral Research Associate (“postdoc”) position between the Olin Business School – Finance Department and the Brown School.

The position is open to new PhDs in finance or economics with advanced statistical skills. The postdoc’s main responsibility is to conduct research on financial well-being and/or labor market outcomes of American households. The results will typically carry public policy implications.

The postdoc’s main responsibility will be to work with credit and income data made available to the Brown School by Equifax Inc, a major credit bureau which is involved in the collection and dissemination of data on credit histories and employment of individuals within the U.S. Faculty at the Finance department at Olin business school have been conducting research with the data for the past two years. The research can be found at http://apps.olin.wustl.edu/faculty/Gopalan/WP.htm. The site also lists the papers that explore the effect of health insurance on household financial wellbeing generated through the collaboration between Brown and Olin researchers. The past graduate students and Post-Docs involved with this research endeavor have obtained tenure track positions at University of Colorado, Boulder and Indiana University.

The postdoc will also help the research team manage study launches, data collection, analysis, and dissemination.

Finally, the postdoc will advise graduate students in finance.

Required Qualifications
