West Chester University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Economics and Finance invites applicants for the position of full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Finance to begin August 2019. Rank and salary are dependent on qualifications. 

Responsibilities:

Teaching: Applicants must be qualified to teach undergraduate and MBA courses, including principles and intermediate level courses in finance, and upper-level finance electives. This may include the development of an elective course in their area of expertise. Teaching assignments will include opportunities for teaching through distance learning. Faculty are also required to maintain office hours.

Research: Conduct scholarly research at an appropriate level for an AACSB accredited school of business that is consistent with West Chester University's scholarly academic standards. Faculty are expected to present results from their research at professional meetings and publish in refereed journals.

Service: Contribute to the university community and the department by serving on committees, helping to recruit students, and performing other services as needed. Serve as an advisor to economics and finance majors regarding academic planning and scheduling.

Qualifications

Education

  • Ph.D. or candidacy for Ph.D. in finance from an AACSB-accredited institution
    • For ABD applicants, Ph.D. completion is expected by June 2020.

Teaching

  • Undergraduate level teaching experience. Any experience teaching graduate level courses is a plus.

Research

  • Seasoned applicants are expected to display scholarship that fulfills West Chester University’s Scholarly Academic requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Concentration in Financial Markets and Institutions, Risk Management and Insurance
    • Excellent candidates in all fields will be considered regardless of concentration.
  • Online teaching experience
