Assistant Professor, Business/Economics in Ashland, Oregon


Job Duties: Teach classes in Business, Finance, and Economics. Teaching assignments will include at least two of the four functional areas of finance (managerial finance, investments, financial markets and institutions, and international finance), at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Teach intermediate macroeconomics and quantitative methods. Additional responsibilities include: advising students; participation in university and departmental service activities; the pursuit of professional activities, such as research and publication; securing grants and other sources of funding; and promoting and enhancing diversity. The position is a full-time nine-month, tenure-track appointment starting at the Assistant Professor level. Position may require up to 10% travel to teach evening classes in Medford, Oregon.


Requirements: Ph.D. degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline from a university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.  ABD applicants who have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Economics and who have advanced to candidacy and have met all requirements for completion of a Ph.D. degree or foreign equivalent by the date of hire will also be considered.  One year of experience as a Professor, Instructor, Teaching Assistant or in a closely related occupation is also required. Experience must include:


• One year of experience teaching in a face-to-face classroom setting.

• Experience teaching at least one macroeconomics course.

• Experience teaching at least one econometrics or statistics course.

• Demonstrated maintenance of an active scholarly or applied research program as demonstrated by at least one publication in a peer-reviewed journal.


Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable. All education, training, and experience may be gained concurrently.
