The Department of Finance at the American University of Sharjah, invites applicants for a full-time faculty positions with interest in the areas of market finance, banking, financial analysis, and corporate finance, starting in the Fall of 2019. Associate and full professors will be considered for this appointment. Applicants for a one-year visiting position might also be considered.

BANK OF SHARJAH CHAIR IN BANKING AND FINANCE:  Candidates with an established record in research on Banking and Finance are invited to apply for the Bank of Sharjah Chair in the Department of Finance. The initial appointment will be for a three-year term, subject to renewal for a second three-year term upon completion of the initial term. The Bank of Sharjah Chair is responsible for enhancing research in the area of Banking in addition to organizing and sponsoring events related to Finance and Banking. The position will require 12 credits of teaching (4 courses) per academic year, and will be supported by a stipend and a research budget in addition to the regular faculty salary.

The salary is competitive, commensurate with experience, and tax-free in the UAE.  Free housing, paid utilities, and other attractive benefits are provided.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: All candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in finance from an AACSB-accredited university, preferably North American. Candidates must have a well-established research record and be willing to teach at both undergraduate (CFA curriculum) and graduate level (MBA, MSF, and PhD). Experience in supervising dissertations is a plus.
