The Washington College Department of Business Management and the International Studies Program invites applications for a jointly-appointed full-time, tenure-track teaching position in International Finance starting in August 2018. The successful candidate will teach three courses per fall and spring semesters, including financial analysis and courses such as international finance or world capital markets, plus compensated (stipend or course release) supervision of a number of senior capstones. The successful candidate will also be expected to occasionally contribute to the College’s first-year seminar program. Enthusiasm for teaching in an undergraduate liberal-arts environment (with an emphasis on critical and analytical thinking, writing, speaking, and faculty-student interaction) is essential. We welcome candidates with an interest in developing experiential-learning opportunities and working individually with qualified students on research projects. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who would thrive in a collegial environment that supports research, encourages interdisciplinary efforts within and beyond the department, and provides mentorship for junior faculty. Candidates should have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in hand at the start of employment. The College will hire at the assistant-professor level.
