Assistant Professor in Finance
The Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University invites applications for one tenure-track faculty position starting August 2019. Although the position is open with respect to rank, the preference is for a recent PhD graduate/candidate or an advanced assistant. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or DBA in Finance or related field from an AACSB accredited university. Owen offers a competitive teaching load.
Candidates with new or anticipated Ph.D. degrees will have research under way that is likely to result in one or more publications in top tier journals, and will have presentation skills that suggest future excellence in teaching. Candidates for tenure rank will possess academic credentials to qualify for a tenured faculty appointment at Vanderbilt University.
The Owen Graduate School of Management is engaged in graduate and undergraduate management education. It has an enrollment of over 550 full-time students in its full-time MBA, Health Care MBA, Executive MBA (EMBA), Americas MBA for executives (AMBA), Master of Science in Finance (MSF), Masters of Accountancy (MAcc), MAcc Valuation, Master of Marketing (MMark), and Masters of Management in Health Care (MMHC) programs. In addition, Owen faculty members teach in the Vanderbilt University undergraduate business minor. The school’s full-time faculty members are actively engaged in research. Owen enrolls students from all parts of the U.S. and 35 countries. Vanderbilt University is an internationally recognized research university with a 333-acre campus located 1.5 miles from downtown Nashville.
