Assistant or Associate Professors, Finance, Haskayne School of Business
The Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary invites applications for two positions in Finance at the Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) or Associate Professor (Appointment with Tenure) ranks, starting in July 2018.
Candidates must have:
- A doctorate in Finance, Economics, or a closely related field;
- A strong record of research in finance or economics with publications in highly-ranked finance journals (commensurate with the professorial rank applied for);
- Demonstrated impact on the profession in terms of citations and professional activities (e.g., refereeing, conference presentations, etc.);
- A demonstrated ability to teach in graduate- and undergraduate-level teaching;
- A demonstrated ability to supervise graduate students;
- A demonstrated willingness to provide service to the university.
Research support is offered to all new hires. The position is open to all areas of research in finance.
Applicants at the Assistant Professor rank must have at least two years of experience in an academic position and at least one publication in a top finance or economics journal.
Applicants at the Associate Professor rank must have at least four years of experience in an academic position, a stronger publication record, and having demonstrated significant research impact. Applicants at the Associate Professor rank must provide evidence that they are likely to continue to make meaningful contributions to their field.
The successful candidate will dedicate their time to teaching our undergraduate and graduate programs, continue to engage in high impact research, submit scholarly works to high quality publications, and provide service with the university and within the profession.
