The Department of Finance and Statistical Analysis within the Alberta School of Business at the University of Alberta, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in finance, starting July 1, 2018. For an appointment at the assistant professor level, candidates must have, or be close to completing, a PhD in an appropriate field, with demonstrated potential to publish top-level research and achieve teaching excellence; appointment in the latter case will be contingent upon the completion of the PhD by an agreed-upon date. Appointments at a more senior level—associate or full professor—may be considered depending on qualifications and experience. For an associate/full professor appointment, we require a PhD, and a high quality publication record in finance journals, accompanied by excellence in teaching. Proficiency in English is required.

Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, conducting and publishing research in top tier journals, supervising graduate students (for senior level appointments), and service to the School’s academic activities.
